Associate Vice President, Total Rewards and HR Technology
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Scope: Institution wide oversight of HR functions for total rewards (non-faculty), workforce analytics, HR shared services, benefits, and records management.
Function: Provides leadership and oversight for operations in HR centers of expertise including: Compensation, Workforce Solutions and Analytics, Benefits, and Human Resources Shared Services. Consults with all levels of leadership on matters related to compensation, benefits, analytics, HR systems, customer relationship management and transaction support, and records management. Develops and oversees plans and programs to create a competitive market position, HR alignment with business objectives, and an institutional culture that attracts, retains and motivates top talent in the industry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Translates institutional strategic plans and annual goals and develops HR operational plans and priorities in areas of responsibilities.
- Assists the VP of Human Resources and CHRO by preparing recommendations for the Executive Compensation Committee including incentive plan amendment, costing, implementation as well as the annual executive compensation survey, merit recommendation and planning, salary administration recommendations and market review for key positions in the institution.
- Serves as a key contributor to executive leadership through and in concert with the VP of Human Resources and CHRO by remaining current on trends in industry compensation, human capital and workforce management business intelligence, continuous improvement methodologies and customer relationship management systems; acts to improve customer service through the analysis of current service profile data, annual goal setting and revision of service level agreements.
- Develops implements and monitors service level agreements between the HR Shared Services and customers; works with all Human Capital Management (HCM) transactional process leaders to ensure effective, accurate and efficient flow of data through all HR technology and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Promotes rigorous, fact-based business intelligence reports and dashboard generation, translating available disparate data sources into actionable, real-time measurement of workforce data for organizational leadership decision making and requisite UT System reporting.
- Serves as HR representative of the Institutional Support IS Governance Committee and other relevant institutionally established committees as assigned.
- Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and correct performance and ensure compliance.
- Assists Vice President, Human Resources and Chief HR Officer through development and execution of HR plans, regular communication updates, and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Adheres to internal controls and responsibilities.
- Performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8 years progressive professional level Human Resources experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 years progressive professional level Human Resources experience.
- HR experience in a public academic medical center with specific knowledge of Texas Government Code related to compensation and benefits.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is strongly desired
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SPHR or equivalent)
