Sr. Applications System Analyst, Academic Computing/Medical Branch Library (Information Technology)
JOB DESCRIPTION:This position is responsible for providing intermediate analysis and documentation, formulating logical statements of business and management problems, and providing solutions utilizing more efficient operational procedure, work flow, and information technology solutions.
Min Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and two years related experience.
Specific Job Related Duties:
- Solves intermediate to complex technical issues.
- SQL Query writing and data mining; development of stored procedures and views
- Constructing and executing database and/or system queries in the support of requests for information
- Query database to troubleshoot issues; collect use and adoption data, value of tools and applications to recommend data-supported decisions.
- Manages enrollment processes from SIS to LMS
- Manages LMS courses, users, storage procedures and privileges
- Manages Blackboard LTI’s, Building Blocks, and tools (installs, updates, removal)
- Manages multiple activities within the scope of project; may function as project lead.
- Designs and/or modifies plans and procedures, and follows project plans to ensure success.
- Assists in the cost justification of system changes and information technology resources.
- Evaluating and implementing educational technologies.
- Provides status updates to project leadership.
- Serves as Information Services, vendor and customer liaison.
- Provide support on application functionality and tool use to faculty, staff, and students.
- Participates as an Academic Computing team member
- Performs related duties as assigned
Preferred
- Experience working with RESTful web APIs
- Experience working with JSON and XML data formats
- Strong communication, writing, and problem solving skills
- Blackboard system administration
- Experience in an academic enterprise
