Network Support Specialist II - IS-Ops-Network (Galveston)
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent in related field and two years related experience
Job Summary:
To provide hardware/software support and the technical skills required to administer, design, modify and maintain a network configuration at the department/school level.
Job Duties:
- Performs basic network installation/refresh activities as directed.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Utilizes software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses basic problems and factors affecting network performance.
- Troubleshoots user connectivity issues consulting with senior team members when necessary.
- Performs operational duties including data jack activations and troubleshooting.
- Provides support for equipment throughout the enterprise including IDF/MDF/UPS maintenance.
- Participates in projects and refresh activities as directed.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Skills: Cisco routers and switches
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: 6 months in Network field
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
