Stores Clerk III - Huntsville Central Pharmacy
The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides stocking and clerical skills necessary to maintain proper inventory levels and stock records for a stores unit.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in the supervision, receipt and unpacking of a wide variety of commodities arriving by various modes of transportation.
- Ensures that all requisitions have budget claims.
- Checks contents received against invoices and purchase orders and reports discrepancies.
- Participates in requisition filling as directed.
- Assigns personnel to make deliveries and pick-ups.
- Maintains files of purchase orders and requisitions.
- Checks for damage of materials.
- Directs hazardous materials to the proper area for safe storage.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
EQUIPMENT:
Works with various equipment which lifts, pushes, pulls, stacks, or moves materials and equipment. Standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Standard warehouse/office environment.
Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school or equivalent and two (2) years related experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) years of experience in training, supervisor, and/or assigning work to workers.
- Two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced environment, physical duties including warehouse, picking, packing and/or shipping of customer orders.
- Two (2) years of experience in a previous job that performs 8 hours of duties that include standing, walking, bending, and/or lifting.
- Some basic knowledge of computer skills, preparing and maintaining a variety of records, logs, and reports as required.
Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
