Simulation Specialist, Health Education Center
Job Description:
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of human and non-human simulation activities including; integrating, maintaining and operating computer and audiovisual technology, performing pre and post simulation activities, and executing simulation sessions equipment. Collaborating with faculty, educators, staff and external stakeholders to quickly resolve problems. Troubleshoot technical and logistical issues to support daily operations of the Health Education Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a science, health or related field of study. A combination of experience and education may be substituted in lieu of a degree.2 years experience in technology, simulation, medical or related environment.
Specific Job Duties:
- Assist with human and all technical operations in the simulation areas.
- Supports/assists in role playing applications, props placement, and moulage set-up before and after simulations and recording of information and debriefing of simulation sessions.
- Assists in the design and building of simulation models as needed.
- Provide technical assistance, support, and training to faculty, instructors, and staff in the use of simulation equipment.
- Conducts tours and simulation sessions for internal/external groups and/or individuals.
- Provide recommendations for operational efficiency, new equipment and supplies, and materials related to simulation.
- Responsible for repair and maintenance of simulation equipment.
- Responsible for inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Responsible for organizing all storage spaces to meet the needs of center activities
- Maintain currency with simulation technology and use.
- Maintain knowledge of simulation equipment, catalogs, and operation manuals.
- Operate audiovisual systems and possess the ability to train others in the use of audiovisual systems
- Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules and regulations.
- Attends seminars, conferences, in-service trainings, and staff meetings, as required.

- Operational knowledge of audio/visual equipment
- Simulation technologies and applications
- Advanced in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Proficient in inventory management and record keeping procedures.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong critical thinking and creative problem solver skills
