IRB Coordinator, Provost Administration (Galveston)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and two years of experience in human/animal research, medical care, or regulatory affairs and effective written communication skills required.
Job Summary:
Coordinates the daily activities associated with the processing of research protocols and all facets of protocol review management to assist the Institutional Review Board.
Job Duties:
- Works with limited supervision to provide technical and professional support to the Institutional Review Board
- Analyzes protocols and supporting documents to ensure conformance with all applicable regulations, statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinates regulatory committee reviews of human subjects protocols, including management of Institutional Review Board (IRB) committee functions such as creation of agendas, minutes, memos, and other documentation to investigators.
- Communicates with investigators and assists research staff with study preparation. Provides feedback from convened meetings or expedited/designated reviews.
- Develops and provides educational programs for investigators, research personnel, and others to promote institutional compliance with research regulations.
- Serve as a regulatory resource for the research staff institution wide.
- Recommends new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities, including participation in development and refinement of data management tools.
- Collaborates with other regulatory entities at UTMB to provide optimal regulatory services for investigators.
- Reads literature, attends training sessions, and other functions to keep abreast of relevant scientific, regulatory, and technical developments related to human research.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
