Must hold current Drug Enforcement Agency and Texas Department of Public Safety controlled substances registration certificates.Job DescriptionProvides professional services related to diagnosis and treatment of inmate patients and of employees injured as a result of TDCJ-ID work related activities. Insures that appropriate health care is accessible and provided to the inmate population in a timely fashion. Renders final medical judgement regarding care provided to inmates assigned to the unit according to Health Services Policies and Procedures. Directs all Health Services activities on the unit and assumes ultimate responsibility for all Health Services employees assigned to the unit. Works under the general direction of the Regional Health Authority, with extensive latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgement.
