Clinical Instructor, SON Undergraduate Studies
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides experiential educational oversight for School of Nursing students.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Pay-by-Letter (PBL), Clinical Instructor Faculty reports directly to the BSN Track Coordinators and then to the BSN Program Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise students in a direct/virtual clinical in various setting(s)
- Assist students to acquire knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSA) to achieve course objectives by providing direct feedback in a timely manner
- Aid students in applying the nursing process in the healthcare delivery system
- Assist with documentation of client care
- Grade papers, projects, and any other written assignments in a timely manner
- Provide a comprehensive midterm and final evaluation of student achievement of clinical and course objectives
- Participate in course faculty meetings as needed
- Participate and provide feedback to students in clinical conferences
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- The minimum requirement for a BSN PBL Clinical Instructor Faculty is a BSN degree with 12 hours Master’s educational course work completed
- Master’s degree preferred
- Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) or specialty area certification preferred
